Social Copywriting Intern | Morning Walk

The Tone:
This is an internship at Morning Walk, located in Chicago, IL. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full-time or 3 days per week (flexible)
• Location: In-person, Chicago, IL
• Pay: $16.60 hourly
• Team: Works directly with senior creatives, strategists, writers, designers, and account teams on client projects.
• Mission: To contribute to social content, copywriting, research, and creative strategy, from early concepting through execution, impacting how brands communicate.
• Tech Stack: AI tools (for ideation, copywriting, research, content development)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Development: Support the concepting, copywriting, and content creation for social, digital, and campaign initiatives.
• Copywriting: Craft platform-native copy that aligns with various brand tones and formats for diverse client needs.
• Research & Analysis: Research audiences, cultural trends, competitors, creators, and emerging platforms, including tracking cultural signals and content behaviors.
• Creative Contribution: Contribute ideas during brainstorms and creative reviews, helping to build presentations and internal creative materials.
• AI Experimentation: Experiment with and apply AI tools to enhance ideation, copywriting, research, and content development processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A student with a keen interest in the intersection of social content, copywriting, research, and creative strategy, ready to learn how brands communicate effectively.
• Experience: Demonstrable awareness of current social platforms, creator culture, and internet behaviors, including an understanding of how ideas spread and stick.
• Skills: Strong writing ability with an innate instinct for appropriate tone, voice, and clarity; the capacity to identify patterns in culture beyond surface-level trends; comfort working independently and proactively; a genuine interest in understanding how creative strategy and execution connect; and a willingness to experiment with AI tools as part of the creative process.
• Bonus: Experience having made things yourself, such as personal content, written pieces, social media pages, student projects, or freelance work, demonstrating initiative and creative output.
