Regional Social Media Manager | For Michigan

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at For Michigan, located in Metro Detroit. For Michigan organizes college students across the state to increase turnout in critical statewide elections. This role is crucial for managing social media accounts, creating engaging content, and coaching student content creators to achieve historic youth turnout in the 2026 midterms.

• Mission: Drive youth civic engagement and historic turnout by managing high-performing social media content and supporting student content creators.
• Tech Stack: CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, Canva, Adobe Suite, analytics tools, spreadsheets, reporting dashboards

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Management: Manage and expand assigned Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platform accounts.
• Content Production: Develop and publish platform-native copy, short-form videos, and graphics.
• Rapid Response: Identify trends and create real-time content based on current events and field organizing.
• Fellow Coaching: Oversee and guide up to 15 Content Creator Fellows, ensuring quality and message consistency.
• Performance Reporting: Generate engagement reports and maintain dashboards to track social media performance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-to-early career professional with foundational knowledge in digital communications, advocacy, or content creation, and a passion for youth civic engagement.
• Experience: 1-3 years in digital communications, campaigns, or content creation, with proven ability to take ownership of accounts and make day-to-day publishing decisions.
• Skills: Sharp writing, political instincts, cultural fluency in youth spaces, strong organizational skills, and understanding of ballot initiative/c3/c4/PAC regulations for social media.
• Bonus: Experience managing brand or political social accounts, proficiency in video editing software (e.g., CapCut), graphic design skills (e.g., Canva), familiarity with analytics tools, or experience in political campaigns, voter engagement, or campus organizing.
