AI & Innovation Intern | Cars Commerce

The Tone:
This is an internship at Cars Commerce, located in Chicago, IL, with a hybrid work model. Cars Commerce is a publicly traded tech company that simplifies car buying and selling, leveraging platforms like Cars.com, Dealer Inspire, AccuTrade, and Dealerclub to connect the automotive industry with essential, simplified technology. This role offers a unique opportunity to build, experiment, and deliver tangible impact by designing and implementing AI-driven solutions that will transform how the Talent Acquisition function operates at scale.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Design and test AI-driven solutions across sourcing, screening, and candidate engagement.
• Build: Build prototypes and automations using AI and workflow tools.
• Optimize: Identify inefficiencies in current recruiting processes and deploy AI solutions to improve speed, quality, and experience.
• Evaluate: Evaluate emerging AI tools and determine practical applications within Talent Acquisition.
• Present: Present findings and solutions directly to TA leadership and recruiting teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Product, or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools to solve real problems (academic, personal, or professional); experience building automations, workflows, or prototypes using AI or no-code/low-code tools.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate AI capabilities into business use cases; analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate impact and effectiveness of solutions; strong communication skills and ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
• Bonus: High level of intellectual curiosity with a bias toward action; naturally looks for ways to improve and streamline processes; comfortable moving quickly from idea to prototype to recommendation.
