Graphic Design Internship | To & Fro

The Tone:
This is an unpaid internship at To & Fro, offering college credit, career change experience, or a general experience-building opportunity as part of an international team. To & Fro is developing a robust tool and platform, preparing for a beta launch focused on building community. This new role will be instrumental in the company’s growth, with the intern responsible for establishing foundational design systems for social media and ensuring a high design standard across teams. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Remote (International Team)

• Team: Works closely with cross-disciplinary, international teams.
• Mission: Design and build social media systems to prepare for community building around the beta launch.
• Tech Stack: Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Translate brand values, creative concepts, UI documentation, and user stories into effective design solutions.
• Innovate: Go beyond the original brief to push creative possibilities and elevate the platform experience with fresh content and interaction ideas.
• Present: Present your work to the founders and pitch new projects and proposals for production.
• Iterate: Rapidly iterate on ad creative, carousels, and stories for social media while maintaining brand consistency.
• Standardize: Help keep teams accountable to a strong design standard that is rigorous enough to match the company’s robust tool.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing college credit, a career changer, or someone seeking experience, with completed studies or training in design, UI, or visual design.
• Experience: Around 1 year of experience demonstrated through a strong portfolio showcasing goals, approaches, impact, and improvement opportunities, along with presentation, research, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Skills: Business-level proficiency in English; up-to-date Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma skills with a high sense of organization; an articulate understanding of design fundamentals including typography, visual design, grid systems, white space, aspect ratios, and color theory.
• Bonus: Motion Graphic skills are a plus, as is experience running workshops and presentations or a desire to learn these skills.
