Outreach Intern — Legal / Political / Marketing | Aebly Media

The Tone:
This is an unpaid internship at Aebly Media, a remote-first organization. Aebly Media is a political news and civic engagement platform that helps users cut through bias by presenting news across the political spectrum with bias scoring and AI summaries. This role is critical for expanding the company’s network by connecting directly with candidates and elected officials to secure interviews, contributing to a more informed understanding of government.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Remote

• Team: Working directly with the Outreach Director, Bar, on a team built to land interviews with candidates and officials.
• Mission: This person will assist in expanding Aebly Media’s network and engagement by connecting with political stakeholders.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Identify and gather information on potential outreach opportunities among candidates and elected officials.
• Outreach: Connect with candidates and elected officials at city, district, House, and Senate levels via email and phone to secure interviews.
• Communication: Draft and manage clear and engaging messages for outreach efforts and stakeholder communication.
• Marketing Support: Assist with marketing initiatives aimed at expanding Aebly Media’s reach and engagement.
• Relationship Management: Maintain professional relationships with the platform’s audience and partners.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing or holding a degree in Political Science, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience: Proficiency in customer service and community outreach for building and maintaining professional relationships.
• Skills: Strong communication and writing skills for crafting clear and engaging messages, research skills to identify information, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail, a proactive approach and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Bonus: Background or interest in legal, political, or marketing fields.
