Intern – Automation/I&C Engineer | CRB

The Tone:
This is an internship at CRB. CRB is an AEC firm of nearly 1,400 expert professionals dedicated to driving life-changing and life-saving solutions for manufacturers in the life sciences and food and beverage industries. This role is a journey where you will dive into real-world project work and learn from industry leaders. Your contribution will make a tangible impact on how CRB operates and help spark meaningful change in important areas like food scarcity and global health.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship

• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Documenting: Developing project documents such as calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications for clients while coordinating with regulatory bodies and industry standards.
• Designing: Assisting with the development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under the direction of the project team lead.
• Collaborating: Coordinating with other disciplines and internal and external team members, including vendors, clients, and contractors.
• Learning: Engaging in a structured internship program to learn from industry leaders and fully immerse oneself in the CRB employee experience.
• Innovating: Working hands-on with cutting-edge projects to contribute unique perspectives and spark meaningful change.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
• Experience: Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).
• Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights; willingness to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and internal and external stakeholders; eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications.
• Bonus: Working towards Fundamental of Engineering Exam registration or completion; familiarity with Engineering Software Applications including computer aided drafting, process modeling, and calculations programs; familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry; prior internship or co-op experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
