Intern, Human Resources (Year-round) | Leviton

This is a year-round internship at Leviton, located in Melville, NY. This role matters because the Human Resources Intern will offer hands-on experience across a broad range of HR functions, supporting the Corporate HR team with projects and initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience.

• Type: Year-round (minimum 20 hours/week, full-time during summer)

• Pay: $18–$22 hourly
• Team: Reports to Director, Compensation & Benefits
• Mission: Support the Corporate HR team by assisting with ongoing projects, administrative tasks, and initiatives that contribute to the overall employee experience.
• Tech Stack: LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Recruitment Support: Schedule interviews and conduct reference checks to facilitate the recruitment process.
• Employee Engagement: Assist with planning and coordinating employee events and wellness initiatives.
• Learning Platform Administration: Administer LinkedIn Learning licenses and prepare utilization reports.
• Confidential Record Management: Maintain disability-related files and communications, ensuring strict confidentiality.
• HR Data & Identity Management: Manage the employee photo database, create ID badges for new hires, and maintain employee files with periodic audits.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, with a strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
• Experience: Major in Human Resource Management or completion of HR related courses.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), strong attention to detail, ability to multitask effectively, and capability to work with urgency while maintaining confidentiality.
