Loan Processor | DHI Mortgage
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at DHI Mortgage, located in a Branch Department. D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., constructs and sells high-quality homes, and its subsidiary DHI Mortgage provides essential financing services to homebuyers. This role is critical in ensuring that mortgage loan applications progress smoothly from initial submission through final approval, supporting both builders and homebuyers with a high level of customer service.

• Mission: Process mortgage loan files efficiently and accurately from receipt through final approval, maintaining compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Tech Stack: MS Office, email, computer systems, AU system.
What You’ll Actually Do
• File Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of a loan file, from its receipt from a Loan Officer through Final Approval.
• Documentation Review: Examine files for correct stacking order, initial AU findings, and appropriate documentation, inputting changes and re-running for accurate determinations.
• Underwriting Submission: Submit all files to the DHI Underwriter at the Regional Underwriting Center and manage conditions received, making necessary system updates before resubmission to the AU system.
• Quality Control & Reporting: Comply with all Quality Control policies, review files against DHI Mortgage checklists, attend scheduled QC meetings, and respond to all QC write-ups promptly.
• Communication & Reconciliation: Maintain an accurate communication log, provide file status to all parties, review various daily and weekly reports, and reconcile the Fee Summary Sheet.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a one-year certificate from a college or technical school, along with the ability to apply common sense to follow written or oral instructions.
• Experience: Three to six months of related experience in mortgage processing or a similar administrative role, with proficiency in MS Office and email.
• Skills: Capability to accurately and efficiently process and record data, strong organizational skills for managing files and reports, and the ability to conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
• Bonus: Demonstrated strong written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
