The Tone:
This is an internship at PlusAI, a company headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, with operations in the United States and Europe. PlusAI is a Physical AI company that pioneers AI-based virtual driver software for factory-built autonomous trucks. This role is important for helping to make a huge impact and drive the future of autonomy. You will dive into a state-of-the-art simulation pipeline, collaborating with industry experts as you train and fine-tune multimodal deep learning models for next-generation autonomous trucks.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, Silicon Valley, CA
• Pay: $19–$65 hourly
• Mission: Train and fine-tune multimodal deep learning models to advance autonomous truck technology.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Create state-of-the-art technologies for detecting unknown or foreign objects using multi-modal sensor streams.
• Benchmark: Design and evaluate cutting-edge techniques within deep learning.
• Optimize: Collaborate with team members to enhance developed techniques.
• Integrate: Seamlessly incorporate developed techniques into the production perception/AV stack.
• Model: Train and fine-tune multimodal deep learning models using a state-of-the-art simulation pipeline.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a similar technical field of study.
• Experience: Software design and development experience using Python. Knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning principles. Practical experience in 3D computer vision.
• Skills: Python, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, 3D Computer Vision.
• Bonus: Prior experience in deep learning projects involving object detection, motion tracking, or semantic segmentation. Experience with 3D Vision. A publication record in relevant academic venues such as CVPR, ICLR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, AAAI, or SIGGRAPH.
