The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Gowan Company, a global agriculture firm. Located primarily in Yuma, AZ, with opportunities in various global locations, this role offers students valuable exposure to professional office operations. Interns will gain real-world experience across different departments, supporting key projects that enhance team organization, communication, and overall efficiency. This program is designed to build practical workplace skills and provide insight into the behind-the-scenes functions of an international company.

The TL;DR

• Mission: Empower students to build practical workplace skills by contributing to daily administrative tasks and supporting projects designed to improve team organization, communication, and operational efficiency within a global agriculture company.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), new systems and software

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administrative Operations: Provide essential administrative support by scheduling meetings, managing calendars, preparing meeting materials, and handling day-to-day documentation needs for various departments.
• Process Improvement: Participate in documenting current workflows through process mapping sessions and assist in updating departmental tools, forms, and internal resources to enhance operational efficiency.
• Data Management & Reporting: Collect, organize, and analyze data to support ongoing projects and team goals, including the preparation of presentations, progress reports, and operational documents.
• Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate with HR, IT, Finance, and other internal teams to understand broader company operations and coordinate project requirements across departments.
• Team Alignment Support: Help facilitate onboarding and offboarding steps within designated departments and support cross-functional project work aimed at improving systems and alignment within the organization.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in a University/College program.
• Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail; effective verbal and written communication; ability to quickly learn new systems and software; capacity to work professionally and manage multiple tasks.
• Bonus: Coursework or experience in project management, organizational systems, or administrative support; familiarity with process improvement concepts or administrative operations.
