ChipSim Intern – Summer 2027 | Etched

The Tone:
Etched builds custom AI inference ASICs for transformers, delivering 10x higher performance than GPUs. This role involves co-designing and testing hardware simulations, working closely with software and hardware teams to create products previously impossible.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Co-design: Participate in the co-design of custom hardware simulations for AI inference systems.
• Develop: Create and implement simulations of Etched’s custom hardware.
• Test: Rigorously test custom hardware simulations across development paths.
• Analyze: Develop tools that engineers use to analyze simulated hardware systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Progress towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, with strong understanding of hardware/software co-design.
• Experience: Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and low-level software engineering.
• Skills: Proficiency in C/C++ or Rust.
