Student Researcher (Video Quality Analysis & Coding Strategy) | ByteDance

What You’ll Actually Do
• Algorithm Design: Design video analysis and quality assessment algorithms, including database creation, development, and optimization.
• Strategy Development: Participate in designing end-to-end video quality optimization strategies with various video algorithms.
• Application & Monitoring: Apply designed algorithms for VOD/Live streaming monitoring, data analysis, and objective evaluation.
• Integration & Validation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate algorithms and validate their impact via A/B testing.
The Must-Haves
• Background: PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline. In-depth knowledge of video analysis or subjective/objective video quality algorithms.
• Experience: Currently pursuing a PhD. Familiarity with ML/image processing tools, deep learning frameworks, and Linux development environments. Hands-on experience with Transformer architectures or MLLMs preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in C, C++, or Python.
