About the Role
Join our cutting-edge Engineering Team as a passionate, AI-driven student innovator to help build the next generation of Coding Agents and SDLC Agents. This intern role offers the opportunity to move beyond simple chatbots and dive into the “Agentic” era of computing, gaining hands-on experience with infrastructure to scale AI globally. By the end of your internship, you will have designed and integrated AI agents into standard development workflows, helping build systems that write and manage code.

What You’ll Do
• Design and implement autonomous agents capable of performing tasks like automated bug fixing, code refactoring, and feature generation.
• Integrate AI agents into standard development workflows, including Version Control Systems (GitHub/GitLab), CI/CD pipelines, and project management tools.
• Build frameworks to benchmark agent reliability, safety, and code quality using static analysis and execution-based testing.
• Experiment with advanced prompting techniques (Chain-of-Thought, ReAct) and fine-tuning strategies to optimize agent performance for coding tasks.

You’re a Good Fit If You
• Are currently pursuing a BS (Junior or rising Senior) or MS in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Have strong proficiency in Python or Java.
• Have a solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), modern DevOps practices, Git, unit testing, and building/consuming REST APIs.
• Have a demonstrated passion for AI, Machine Learning, and LLM-powered applications.

Bonus Qualifications
• Have experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGPT, AutoGen), vector databases (Chroma, Pinecone), or RAG architectures.
• (For MS) Have research experience in Automated Software Engineering (ASE), Natural Language Processing, or AI safety.

Role Highlights & Compensation
• Work arrangement: In office | San Jose, CA.
• Requires coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week if within 50 miles of a Nutanix office.
• The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $55 per hour.
• Total compensation package may include a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, discretionary awards, medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave).
