About the Role
This is a master’s level Clinical Intern role at Nexus Family Healing’s Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility in East Bethel, MN, serving youth ages 10-19. The internship focuses on providing hands-on experience in mental and behavioral health care to prepare students for a career in the field, while applying classroom theory and supporting the well-being and personal growth of youth in a diverse and inclusive environment.
What You’ll Do
• Fulfill the required academic program and/or Academic Institution’s criteria for internship learning objectives.
• Participate in the orientation and the onboarding process to learn Nexus Family Healing’s policy and procedure expectations.
• Ensure confidentiality of all treatment and services information pertaining to clients and their families.
• Maintain agreed upon schedule and timeliness.
• Meet the supervision requirements and expectations.
• Act ethically, professionally, and respectfully when communicating and interfacing with clients, coworkers, and external contacts.
• Perform other job-related responsibilities, tasks and projects as needed and/or requested.
• Participate in shadowing and observational opportunities in areas such as social work, early childhood treatment, in-home services, family therapy, and treatment evaluation.
You’re a Good Fit If You
• Must be enrolled in a Master’s or other graduate degree program in one of the Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, or related fields, from an accredited college or university.
• Must meet the required number of experience hours in a human services field for the internship level.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the state regulating agency and corporate driving requirements.
• Must have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges.
• Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.
• Must be able to successfully pass a DHS background check.
Bonus Qualifications
• Knowledge of family-based philosophy and practice is preferred.
Role Highlights & Compensation
• Flexible schedule; weekly hours will be coordinated with the Nexus agency supervisor.
• Onsite in East Bethel, MN.
• Internships are short-term, typically lasting from one quarter to one year.
