Tech Policy Intern

About the Role
The Tech Policy Intern will join CEPA’s Tech Policy program, working with the team to explore technology’s impact on geopolitics and advance a positive transatlantic tech agenda that upholds the democratic competitive edge. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in tech, foreign policy, research, and stakeholder engagement.

What You’ll Do
• Conduct research and analysis on key topics related to technology policy, innovation, economic security, and transatlantic cooperation
• Assist in organizing events, including panel discussions, workshops, and roundtables
• Support outreach efforts to key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, and academic experts
• Help prepare reports, policy briefs, and other programrelated publications
• Monitor and analyze developments in tech policy, including AI, export controls, and data sovereignty
• Provide logistical and administrative support for program activities
• Support the Tech Policy team on strategic initiatives and advocacy efforts

You’re a Good Fit If You
• Are currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Technology Studies)
• Have a minimum junior or senior standing in undergraduate studies, or enrollment in a graduate program
• Possess strong research, analytical, and writing abilities
• Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (Teams)
• Are able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
• Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Are a team player with a proactive approach
• Demonstrate adaptability and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Can commit to three months, with agreed-upon hours per week, between 20-40 hours
• Are able to work in CEPA’s office or remotely, depending on role requirements

Bonus Qualifications
• Are familiar with technology policy topics, such as AI, economic security, supply chains, and digital markets
• Have demonstrated interest in CEPA’s mission and focus areas, particularly transatlantic tech policy
• Possess basic knowledge of global and regional politics, technology trends, and policymaking processes
