Job Description

About the Role
This Summer 2026 internship provides an opportunity to gain relevant experience and jump-start your career as a Customer Service Operations Strategy Intern. You will work closely with the Industrial Spices team, gaining hands-on exposure to end-to-end customer operations, from order intake through delivery. This role focuses on building foundational skills in process optimization, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, helping to bring structure, visibility, and consistency to daily operations to ensure efficient order movement and timely, high-quality customer service. At the completion of the internship, you will deliver a final presentation to senior leadership.

What You’ll Do
• Drive Operational Visibility: Maintain and update action trackers for key buckets (past due, allocated/packed with/without appointments, not allocated/not packed, holds) and ensure items have clear owner + next step documented.
• Improve Order Execution: Document the as-is order cycle, create process maps/flowcharts, identify handoff gaps (especially credit/incomplete releases), and propose clear “to-be” handoffs.
• Standardize Communication: Develop standardized templates/decision trees for proactive customer updates (e.g., when an order is delayed, on hold, unappointed, or awaiting pickup) aligned to the execution pipeline.
• Enhance Request Quality: Establish “minimum context” standards for internal requests (customer name, reason, required action) to increase efficiency in researching order-only asks; maintain a simple intake template for planners/teams.
• Support Continuous Improvement: Analyze recurring root-cause themes surfaced in the stand-up for delays (e.g., pricing holds, credit holds, spec/material issues) and recommend practical quick wins (documentation, trigger points, checklists, ownership changes).
• Build Playbooks: Create repeatable resources (templates, guides, process maps), to support team efficiency and consistency.

You’re a Good Fit If You
• Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Analytics, Communications, or related.
• Have advanced Excel skills and comfort working with operational datasets and trackers used for daily execution reviews.
• Are a strong written and verbal communicator.
• Are process-oriented with a high attention to detail.
• Are comfortable in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment and able to manage multiple workstreams without losing accuracy.
• Are a curious problem-solver with a desire to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess strong stakeholder-engagement and communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications
• Master’s degree preferred.

Role Highlights & Compensation
• You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to high-impact projects at a global organization.
• You will benefit from professional development through continuous learning & development opportunities, mentorship, and exposure to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• You will join an inclusive culture as part of a diverse global team that values curiosity, collaboration, innovation, and sustainability.
• The pay for this role in the state of IL or CA is $22-50/hour and is based on position responsibilities and geographic location.
• Interns with a permanent address more than 35 miles from the work location are eligible for a stipend to offset relocation and housing costs.
• This position requires the ability to work on-site at the assigned location for 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2026.
