About the Role
This role is for a Business Development Intern at Shimmick, a national heavy construction contractor specializing in challenging water and critical infrastructure projects. The internship aims to provide essential, hands-on skills and administrative support to the Business Development department, helping students transition from academia to a professional environment within a dynamic and fast-growing company known for its excellent industry reputation.
What You’ll Do
• Provide admin support for the BD department
• Assist with local events
• Perform data entry
• Conduct market research
You’re a Good Fit If You
• Are currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, English or a related field
• Intend to continue enrollment after an internship
• Have completed 2 years of study
• Possess strong time management skills
• Demonstrate good prioritization abilities
• Are detail-oriented
Bonus Qualifications
• Are a university student with more than one year of school remaining before earning a degree (typically Freshmen, Sophomores, or Juniors)
• Have knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite
• Possess strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail
• Have the ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders
• Can work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks
• Are highly organized with excellent time management skills
• Have excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
• Are eligible to return for additional internships if successful
Role Highlights & Compensation
• The salary range for this position is $26.00 – $30.00 per hour depending on experience and/or education
• A Housing Stipend is available to those who qualify
• Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
• This position does not include sponsorship for United States Work Authorization
