About the Role
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), on-site Software Engineer Intern position within a fast-paced and dynamic Information Security team, starting in August or September 2026 for a minimum of 12 weeks, through fall term. The role requires expertise in processing large amounts of data, building and optimizing ETL pipelines, developing secure REST APIs using Python or Java, and implementing DevOps methodologies for large-scale, sensitive datasets. This internship program is for students actively enrolled in an academic program.
What You’ll Do
• Architect and maintain secure, scalable ETL pipelines to process high-volume
• Implement efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes using Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, or equivalent frameworks
• Implement robust failure recovery mechanisms and alerting for pipeline reliability
• Optimize Spark jobs for low latency and high throughput in processing data
• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable REST APIs using Python frameworks (e.g., Flask, Fast API) or Java frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot)
• Work in a DevOps-driven environment, implementing CI/CD pipelines for ETL workflows and API deployments
You’re a Good Fit If You
• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field of study with a graduation date between 2026-2027
• Able to relocate and work onsite in Bellevue, WA
• Proficient in at least two general programming language such as Python and Java
• Proven expertise in architecting data pipelines
• Hands-on mastery of Apache Spark, Airflow, Apache Iceberg/ delta lake
• Hands-on mastery in REST API development using technologies like spring boot or fast
• Hands-on mastery in DevOps & CI/CD
• Adaptable & collaborative mindset
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
