The Tone:
This is a volunteer internship at FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), available in various locations. FCA is a faith-based non-profit organization dedicated to sports ministry, committed to fostering the holistic development of student-athletes. This role is meticulously designed to guide interns in discerning their personal calling and career path within ministry by providing a structured learning and developmental experience across various facets of FCA’s mission.

• Mission: To foster the holistic development of student-athletes, helping them discern their personal calling and career path in ministry through comprehensive training and hands-on engagement with FCA’s ministry facets.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Insight: Gain practical insights into the daily operations and strategic vision of a faith-based non-profit organization uniquely committed to sports ministry, understanding its foundational principles and impact within the community.
• Skill Development: Develop essential leadership and communication skills through active participation in various ministry initiatives, contributing to both personal and organizational growth within the FCA framework.
• Community Outreach: Learn about and actively assist in implementing effective outreach strategies to connect with coaches and athletes across collegiate, high school, and broader community environments.
• Event Coordination: Provide support in the planning and execution of a range of FCA events, including spiritual gatherings like Bible studies, team devotionals, and broader ministry meetings.
• Spiritual Leadership: Actively lead, conduct, and provide spiritual guidance to staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes, which includes facilitating prayer, leading Bible studies, fostering worship, and consistently living by biblical example, thereby equipping others for service.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled collegiate student-athlete serving as a volunteer, specifically seeking a structured learning and developmental ministry experience designed to foster holistic personal and spiritual growth.
• Experience: Demonstrated commitment to cultivating and maintaining a vibrant personal spiritual rhythm, encompassing daily prayer and diligent Bible study to earnestly seek the Lord’s will for FCA and personal guidance. Active participation and genuine connection within a local church, consistently demonstrating personal discipleship through regular worship attendance and weekly involvement.
• Skills:
* Biblical Adherence: Ability to affirm and consistently adhere to FCA’s Christian Community Statement at all times, reflecting its principles in all aspects of life and ministry, both within and outside of ministry activities.
* Spiritual Guidance: Capacity to actively lead, conduct, and provide spiritual leadership to diverse groups including staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes, effectively facilitating prayer, leading Bible studies, and fostering worship.
* Ethical Conduct: Upholding a high standard of conduct that consistently affirms biblical principles, in full accordance with FCA’s Christian beliefs as detailed in the Christian Community Statement.
* Communication & Leadership: Foundational skills in leadership and communication, essential for active participation in ministry initiatives and effective engagement with various stakeholders.
* Event Support: Practical capability to assist in the planning and execution of ministry events, Bible studies, team devotionals, and other ministry meetings.
