Occupational Therapist | Jobot Consulting

The Tone:
This is a contract role at Jobot Consulting, located in Union City, CA, offering temporary coverage for a maternity leave from June to December 2026. This position is critical for ensuring continuity of essential occupational therapy services for a geriatric and frail population, involving direct care both on-site at the facility and through occasional home visits. It presents a significant opportunity for an entry-level or junior Occupational Therapist to gain valuable, hands-on experience within a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare environment, contributing to holistic patient care encompassing rehabilitation, mental health, and dietary support.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $53.55–$59.50 hourly
• Team: Collaborative multidisciplinary care team, working closely with other Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and cross-functional care teams (e.g., rehab, mental health, dietary).
• Mission: Provide high-quality, patient-centered occupational therapy services to elderly and frail patients during a maternity leave, ensuring continuity of care.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Therapy Services: Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of elderly and frail patients within the Union City care center.
• Treatment Planning: Develop, implement, and continuously monitor individualized treatment plans that are directly driven by each patient’s specific care goals and overall health plan.
• Home Care: Conduct comprehensive home safety evaluations and perform approximately 4–5 patient home visits per month within the local area, requiring consistent and reliable personal transportation.
• Team Collaboration: Engage in close and collaborative work with fellow Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and various cross-functional care teams, including specialists in rehabilitation, mental health, and dietary support, to ensure a truly holistic approach to patient care.
• Record Keeping: Maintain precise, timely, and thorough patient documentation of all services provided and patient progress, with a strong preference for candidates who possess experience utilizing the Epic EMR system.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a graduate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program, providing the necessary educational foundation for clinical practice.
• Experience: Possess an active Occupational Therapist (OT) license issued by the state of California, which is mandatory for legal and professional practice in the role.
• Skills: Demonstrate the essential capability for local travel by possessing reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, required for performing patient home visits (approximately 4–5 per month).
• Bonus: Be proficient in bilingual communication, specifically in English alongside Mandarin or Cantonese, to effectively serve and connect with a diverse patient population; ideally, have prior professional experience (1–2+ years) working directly with geriatric or frail patient populations.
