What You’ll Actually Do
• Design and Develop: Architect, design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reliable backend services and APIs using modern programming languages.
• Technical Leadership: Lead technical discussions, propose solutions, and contribute to system architecture and engineering practices.
• Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code, adhering to high standards of quality.
• Collaboration: Work with product managers, front-end engineers, QA, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver features.
• Mentorship: Guide junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and help the team improve.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field. Equivalent practical experience in software development is also considered. This is a senior-level position requiring leadership potential.
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience specifically in backend software development is required. This includes extensive experience working with both relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Redis. Practical, hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is also a key requirement.
• Skills: Strong proficiency is needed in at least one modern backend programming language, including Python, Java, Go, or Node.js. Candidates must have a solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and proven experience in designing and implementing robust RESTful or GraphQL APIs. Additionally, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills are crucial, alongside proficiency with various testing methodologies like unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, or knowledge of message queues and streaming platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ. Experience with real-time data processing or machine learning integration, contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field are also highly valued.
