About the Job: Sales Representative

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our team. This role is crucial for driving sales growth, maintaining strong customer relationships, and optimizing our market presence within an assigned territory. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the metals industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new accounts while strategically maintaining and growing existing client relationships.
  • Ensure margin optimization across all sales activities to maximize profitability.
  • Consistently meet or exceed specified sales and tonnage targets annually.
  • Provide accurate quarterly forecasts to support effective budgeting and strategic planning.
  • Proactively explore and exploit sales opportunities within the designated territory.
  • Foster strong relationships with key decision-makers in both current and potential customer bases.
  • Deliver compelling value-added propositions to both customers and the organization.
  • Initiate and oversee quotes/contracts between customers and Samuel, serving as the primary point of contact for any issues, concerns, or opportunities within the designated territory.
  • Effectively manage inventory and expenses to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of our capabilities and products within the Samuel organization, as well as a thorough understanding of competitor profiles in the territory.
  • Attend relevant trade shows and conferences within the assigned territory to network and stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Continuously pursue personal development opportunities to enhance effectiveness and professional growth within the territory.

Role Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Preferably a college degree with prior experience in the metals industry.
  • Proficiency in AS 400, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, as well as internet navigation and other miscellaneous computer software as required by suppliers.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are highly valued.
  • Prior experience supporting defense and/or government customers is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $97,760 – $134,420. Final compensation will be determined based on geographic location, relevant skills and experience, and internal equity considerations.
  • Sales Incentive Plan (SIP): This role is eligible to participate in the applicable Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.
