About the Electrical Safety Team
Backed by 125 years of experience, Intertek’s Electrical team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification for a variety of electrical products. This includes appliances, consumer electronics, lighting, medical devices, information communications technology, HVACR, industrial, and energy transmission and distribution. Our dedicated professionals ensure the quality, safety, and sustainability of electrical products used globally.
Job Summary
The Electrical Safety Technician I position supports the Electrical business by setting up and performing a variety of tests. We are looking for technically competent individuals who will meticulously follow and enforce all safety requirements and company policies, while providing exceptional customer service.

- 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities (What you’ll do)
- Set up test equipment, test apparatus, and perform necessary tests.
- Prepare test samples according to specifications.
- Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
- Interact with customers in a professional manner, maintaining a professional appearance and attitude.
- Diligently practice safety, demonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards, and use safety equipment as required by management.
- Work closely with lead/crew members, taking direction to complete projects within established policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily cleanup and maintenance of projects, work equipment, work sites, and vehicles, and organize all tools and materials.
- Perform site survey activities as part of a team.
- Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
- Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
- Perform other work as required to support team objectives.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Entry Level – No experience required.
- A valid driver’s license and a reliable driving record.
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate, up to 50%.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
- Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools.
- Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information effectively.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
- Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management skills.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
- Must be customer-focused and quality-driven.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure personal safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by actions at work.
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications
- Trade school certification or an associate degree in a technical field.
- 1+ years of relatable experience.
- OSHA safety certification.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
