What You’ll Actually Do
• Design and deploy highly scalable, reliable, and performant backend services and APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver features.
• Contribute to the architectural design and evolution of backend systems, ensuring maintainability, scalability, and security.
• Implement best practices for software development, including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systems to ensure high availability and performance, participating in on-call rotations as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Emphasis on building scalable distributed systems.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development. Extensive experience with relational and NoSQL databases, designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Skills: Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (Java, Python, or Go). Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design principles, and software design patterns. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Experience with message queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS) and various testing methodologies (JUnit, Pytest, Go testing). Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments. Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects. Knowledge of performance optimization and scalability challenges in high-traffic applications.
