What You’ll Actually Do
• Design and Develop: Lead the design and development of robust, scalable, and secure microservices and APIs for the core cloud platform.
• Collaborate and Define: Work with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to define requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
• Code and Test: Write high-quality, maintainable code using best practices, including comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Troubleshoot and Resolve: Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, contributing to on-call rotations to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
• Mentor and Evolve: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the evolution of the architecture by advocating for and implementing new technologies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior-level Software Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, focused on backend systems and cloud platforms.
• Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, extensive experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their associated services (EC2, S3, Lambda, Kubernetes), and demonstrated experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Skills: Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Go, Java, Python, C#, or Node.js; a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design principles; and experience with relational and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Bonus: Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and prior experience in a leadership or mentorship role.
