Payroll Assistant | Beaumont Unified School District

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Beaumont Unified School District, located at the Educational Support Facility in Beaumont, CA. The District is situated in the scenic San Gorgonio Pass and proudly supports a growing community of over 12,000 students across various schools and programs. This position is vital for maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the district by ensuring accurate payroll processing and robust risk management. The role contributes directly to a stable and secure environment for all staff and students.

The TL;DR

• Location: Beaumont, CA
• Pay: $25.40–$34.77 hourly
• Team: Reports to Assistant Superintendent of Business, and/or Assistant Director of Fiscal Services
• Mission: Perform payroll and fringe benefit record keeping and reconciliation, alongside district risk management duties.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payroll: Perform accurate record keeping and reconciliation for payroll processes.
• Benefits: Manage and reconcile fringe benefit records for district employees.
• Risk Management: Oversee general liability and workers’ compensation programs.
• Safety: Administer injury and illness prevention initiatives to ensure a safe environment.
• Support: Execute other related business services tasks as required to support district operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with a high school diploma or equivalent, focused on applying skills in payroll, insurance, or financial record keeping.
• Experience: Two years of general office clerical experience, including duties that require arithmetic and accurate record keeping in areas like payroll, insurance, or financial statistics.
• Skills: Accurate record keeping, arithmetic proficiency, general office clerical support, data management.
• Bonus: An Associate of Arts (AA) degree is preferred.
