Project Engineering Aide Sr. – Boost Controls Team

About the Role

As a Project Engineering Aide Sr. on the Boost Controls team, you will play a crucial support role in the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program. This position requires a strong blend of technical aptitude, organizational skills, and effective communication to ensure smooth operations and project success.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including:

  • Generating various project documentation, reports, flow charts, block diagrams, schedules, and schematics.
  • Attending daily and weekly team meetings to discuss technical, schedule, and operations issues.
  • Preparing and presenting weekly status chart packages and reports to programs and management.
  • Reviewing technical documents to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinating and facilitating technical exchange meetings to foster collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Developing clear and concise presentation material for various stakeholders.
  • Handling peer reviews of technical documentation and processes.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate a foundational understanding of STEM principles, strong organizational capabilities, and excellent communication skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: An Associate degree in a STEM field, coupled with related work experience and/or technical training. Completed coursework towards a related degree may also be considered.
  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Experience & Skills:

  • Ability to tackle detailed technical assignments, often requiring learning or developing planning and integration skills.
  • Proficiency in project planning and product life cycle management.
  • Experience performing design assessments and developing data-driven solutions.
  • Basic understanding of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) principles, along with the ability to interpret, generate, and present technical material and problem solve effectively.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail to create high-quality work products.
  • Ability to effectively engage, communicate, and interact with technical engineers, upper management, and program customers.

Candidates possessing the following skills and experiences will be highly valued:

  • A customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with internal and external partners.
  • Experience coordinating technical engineering meetings, including setting up conference rooms and working in a classified environment.
  • Strong communication skills, including public speaking and presentation experience with Senior Leaders and Government Stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience using project tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Tableau, etc.).
  • Good presentation skills, with the ability to present clearly and concisely on a weekly basis to management and customers.
  • Ability to work independently within a team structure and handle multiple priorities and internal customers.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $51,000 – $89,930.

For most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York, the annual base salary range is $58,700 – $97,750.

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only): Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week, while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time Off benefits.
