Trauma Center Master Level Macro Internship | Riverside Trauma Center

The Tone:
This is an internship at Riverside Trauma Center, located in Dedham, MA. The center focuses on providing vital services in suicide prevention, postvention, and critical incident response. This macro-level internship offers a unique opportunity for Master’s-level students to contribute to systems-level initiatives that support individuals, organizations, and communities impacted by traumatic events, without involving clinical therapy provision.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Responses: Assist with on-site, telephonic, and virtual services for suicide-related incidents and other traumatic events.
• Deliver Training: Support the delivery and adaptation of trainings on suicide prevention, postvention, trauma-informed care, and workforce wellness.
• Develop Workflows: Assist in the development and refinement of workflows and protocols for high-risk industries concerning suicide prevention and postvention.
• Foster Collaboration: Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure coordinated, trauma-informed response efforts.
• Advance Best Practices: Contribute to thought leadership and content development to advance best practices in the field.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited Master’s-level Social Work (MSW), Public Health (MPH), or related program, seeking a macro-focused internship.
• Experience: Experience or a strong interest in community-based work, advocacy, or systems-level initiatives.
• Skills: Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and willingness to travel regionally; ability to build rapport and work effectively across cultures with diverse populations; strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills; understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of neurodiverse individuals and communities; comfort with virtual platforms and ability to learn new systems.
