Food Service Worker – Kitchen Staff

Henry Ford Jackson Hospital is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join our Kitchen team as a Food Service Worker. In this vital role, you will contribute to the efficient operation of our food service department, ensuring high standards of food handling, cleanliness, and patient satisfaction.

General Summary of Responsibilities:

As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks within the hospital kitchen. Your duties will encompass the preparation and serving of food items, ensuring proper portioning and presentation. You will also play a crucial role in the logistical aspects of food service, including the transportation of food and supplies throughout the facility. Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment is paramount, and you will perform various cleaning tasks for both the kitchen facility and equipment, as well as handle ware washing duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties related to combining, portioning, and serving of food to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist with the transportation of prepared food items and necessary supplies within the hospital.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of kitchen facilities, work areas, and food service equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Execute ware washing tasks, ensuring all dishes, utensils, and serving equipment are clean and sanitized.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
  • Support the overall efficient operation of the kitchen department.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Experience: Previous food service experience preferred.
