Club Operations Supervisor | Commander, Navy Region Hawaii
The Tone:
This is a key operational role assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAE) Community Programs (N92) Branch, which is part of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services (N94) under Commander, Navy Region Hawaii. The position is situated at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPPH) in Honolulu, HI, specifically within the Kona Winds Complex, a vital part of the base’s community offerings. The primary objective of this role is to deliver excellent customer service to patrons and to execute a diverse range of duties that directly support the MWR community recreation program, ensuring its smooth functioning and the positive experience of service members and their families.

• Mission: Oversee club operations, manage financial transactions, and ensure patron satisfaction and facility security to support the MWR community recreation program.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Oversight: Oversee and monitor the daily operations of a club or designated area, particularly during the absence of management, often including evenings and weekends.
• Financial Management: Manage the accurate issue, receipt, and control of cash, conducting unscheduled counts, and preparing reports of significant occurrences during the shift.
• Patron Relations: Actively resolve patron complaints and other customer service issues to ensure and maintain a high level of patron satisfaction.
• Security and Compliance: Enforce facility security for funds, merchandise, supplies, equipment, and property in accordance with directives and regulations, while also proactively addressing alcohol abuse.
• Facility Closure: Conduct thorough inspections and secure the facility completely at the end of each shift, maintaining security standards.
The Must-Haves
• Background: No specific education requirement, though applicants must be 21 years old or older. The role requires foundational knowledge of club, restaurant, or general business operations, or equivalent leadership experience. Federal employment suitability requirements and a successful background investigation are also necessary.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of experience is required that demonstrates knowledge of club, restaurant, or business operations, or equivalent leadership. This includes proven familiarity with cash handling procedures and sales operation.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to provide clear work direction to other employees, and to recognize and appropriately resolve issues with intoxicated or unruly patrons, seeking assistance when necessary. Additionally, the ability to establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with others is essential.
