Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical backend services and APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Architect and implement highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams to define requirements, scope projects, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Drive technical excellence, including code reviews, adherence to coding standards, and promoting best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for production systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve our development processes and system capabilities.
• Optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development, with a strong focus on building scalable web services and APIs.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, Go, or C#.
• Extensive experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of tackling complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills & Experience (Nice-to-haves)

• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of large-scale systems.
• Knowledge of security best practices in software development.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
