Roadway Engineering Intern (Spring/Summer 2026)

Location: Peachtree Corners/Atlanta, GA

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Roadway Engineering Intern, you will be integral to our project teams, contributing to significant infrastructure developments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing creative and innovative solutions for complex roadway and civil engineering challenges, always seeking the most efficient and economical methods to achieve project objectives.
• Ensuring all designs comply with stringent Federal, State, and local agency requirements, as well as industry standards and best practices.
• Preparing comprehensive documentation including specifications, cost estimates, quantity calculations, detailed technical reports, and in-depth engineering analyses.
• Reviewing supplier drawing submittals and performing thorough technical bid analyses to ensure quality and compliance.
• Assisting in the preparation and issuance of critical construction documents such as specifications and data sheets.
• Contributing significantly to intermediate to large-scale projects, either as an integrated part of a project team or as a dedicated design engineer.

What Required Qualifications You’ll Bring

We are looking for motivated individuals who meet the following criteria:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Completion of at least two years of coursework towards your degree.
• Prior coursework completed in transportation, roadway, or structural engineering disciplines.
• Demonstrated strong interest and ability to effectively work on multiple road and highway projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools and a fundamental working knowledge of CAD software (MicroStation preferred).
• Familiarity with industry standards and applicable engineering software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, vital for team collaboration and documentation.

What Preferred Qualifications You’ll Bring

Candidates with the following qualifications will be highly regarded:

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Prior internship experience in civil or roadway engineering.

Salary Range & Benefits

Salary Range: $22.93 – $40.14 per hour
