Financial Accounting Internship | Cambia

This is a full-time, twelve-week Financial Accounting Internship at Cambia, scheduled to begin in June 2026. The position is hybrid, requiring presence in Portland, OR or Vancouver, OR. • Mission: This intern supports the Financial Accounting Services by performing core accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations to support monthly financial statements and analysis, and generate reports for month-end and quarter-end.
• Compliance & Audit: Assist with insurance industry regulatory reporting, financial examinations, and audits.
• Asset Management: Complete the annual asset review and assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
• Process Enhancement: Implement process improvements and participate in developing policies, procedures, and practices for internal controls.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum three years of college education, actively pursuing a degree in Accounting or Business with an Accounting emphasis.
• Experience: Required completion of the Intermediate Accounting sequence or its equivalent. Candidates are preferred to be one year from graduation.
• Skills: Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates must possess the ability to think analytically, make sound judgments from analysis, and exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Academic & Legal Requirements: A minimum overall GPA of 3.2 and an Accounting GPA of 3.4 are required. U.S. work authorization is mandatory for this position.
