• Mission: Solve the fundamental problem of ensuring the technical correctness and overall quality of software within critical missile defense systems through rigorous analysis, defect identification, and recommended improvements.
• Tech Stack: C, C++, Java, C#, Ada (preferred), Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools such as Fortify, Coverity, Checkmarx.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze Software: Perform comprehensive static analysis and detailed defect analysis to evaluate the integrity and functionality of software specifically developed for missile defense systems.
• Ensure Correctness: Apply various technical measures and methodologies to rigorously ensure the technical correctness and compliance of software components within critical defense applications.
• Identify Defects: Proactively pinpoint and meticulously document identified software defects, understanding their root causes and potential impacts on system performance and security.
• Communicate Findings: Clearly articulate and explain identified software defects, their implications, and potential risks to diverse audiences, including both highly technical teams and senior managerial stakeholders.
• Propose Solutions: Develop and recommend practical, effective, and technically sound fixes and mitigation strategies for discovered software defects, guiding development teams towards robust solutions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as STEM, computer science, or computer engineering is preferred for this early career role, providing a foundational understanding relevant to software assurance.
• Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience in software analysis, quality, or development, coupled with the essential ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance; an existing Active Secret Clearance is highly desired and will be given preference.
• Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental programming languages including C, C++, Java, and/or C# is required. This role also demands the capacity for detailed static analysis and effective defect analysis of complex software.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include embedded software development experience, practical experience with software quality assurance (SQA) methodologies, familiarity with cryptography, quantum-resistant cryptography, or module proofs, and Ada programming language experience. Additional assets include experience building software assurance and continuous integration (CI) pipelines, proficiency with static application security testing (SAST) tools like Fortify, Coverity, Checkmarx, and other scanning software, or possessing a CISSP, IAT Level III 8570, or Security+ Certification.
