The TL;DR

• Type: Full Time
• Location: In-person, Fraziers Bottom, WV
• Team: Works as a vital member of a tree crew, collaborating with experienced Arborists, Climbers, Plant Health Care technicians, and Landscape professionals.
• Mission: Learn to be a “tree doctor” and operate as a vital member of a tree crew, progressively learning new skills.
• Tech Stack: chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, climbing gear, uniforms, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Learning Management System (LMS)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn to climb trees safely and skillfully, receiving payment for this training.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services, including tree identification and pruning according to industry guidelines.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems within tree canopies.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment, such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Assist in the safe removal of hazardous trees.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing studies in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Possess a valid Driver’s license and demonstrate the ability to report to work regularly and punctually.
• Skills: Exhibit enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture, a genuine love for the outdoors, a positive attitude, a strong willingness to learn, and excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Bonus: A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is considered a plus.
