Company/Location Overview: The Glenmore Distillery

The Glenmore Distillery, a historic fixture in Owensboro, KY since the late 1800s, was one of only four distilleries allowed to operate on a limited scale during Prohibition for medicinal purposes. In March 2009, Sazerac Company acquired the distillery, reviving its original name. The Glenmore Distillery now boasts one of the largest and most modern bottling facilities in the country and remains a significant employer in Owensboro. Job Title: Safety Intern

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Sazerac’s Safety Internship provides students with a comprehensive opportunity to gain experience in the distilled spirits industry. This role focuses on supporting all Safety and Environmental initiatives within bottling, distilling, and distribution operations.

Interns will work closely with top operational talent, developing a deep understanding of various departments and career paths within the company. They will contribute to and lead hands-on projects that directly impact company productivity and growth.

Expectations Of Technical Internship:

  • Work with a mentor to develop project plans and set goals.
  • Complete health and safety process improvement projects in assigned areas.
  • Develop and write standards for assigned processes.
  • Participate in technical intern events, including networking opportunities throughout the company, time with senior leaders, and extracurricular activities.
  • Position located in Owensboro, KY.

The Internship Experience:

  • A 12-week summer internship program running from May 2026 to August 2026.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s level degree in Environmental Science, Health, Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Self-motivated, strong work ethic, innovative, solution-oriented mindset, with a passion for learning.
  • Team player with effective communication skills and a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude.
  • Willingness to relocate (intern location will be determined in Spring 2026).
  • Ability and willingness to commit to the entirety of Sazerac’s internship program.
