Paid Summer Internship: Business, Sales, & Leadership

Southwestern Advantage is offering a unique paid summer internship opportunity for ambitious college students from all majors. This program is designed to provide real-world business experience, foster leadership skills, and equip participants with comprehensive sales expertise, operating much like your own small business.

About the Internship

This is an intensive outside sales internship where you will:

  • Work Independently: Take charge of your operations, managing all aspects of your business.
  • Gain Professional Training: Receive 100 to 300 hours of professional coaching in sales, leadership, and marketing.
  • Build Relationships: Engage in consultative sales, communicating with 2,000 to 5,000 families from diverse economic backgrounds to build rapport and create lasting customer relationships.
  • Direct Sales Experience: Focus on the direct sales of educational products.
  • Comprehensive Business Management: Handle all aspects of your business, including ordering, inventory, sales, accounting, scheduling, and product delivery.
  • Travel & Housing: Travel to another state for the summer (housing will be provided).
  • Optional College Credits: Opportunities for 3 upper division transferable college credits in Communications and Marketing are available.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in consultative sales practices.
  • Communicate effectively with 2,000 to 5,000 families across various economic backgrounds.
  • Build rapport and create strong relationships with customers.
  • Execute direct sales of educational products.
  • Manage all aspects of product ordering, inventory, sales, accounting, scheduling, and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Must be a current college student or a recent college graduate.
  • Possess a positive attitude.
  • Be goal-oriented with a strong drive to achieve.
  • Demonstrate personal motivation and initiative.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic.
  • Be teachable and coachable, eager to learn and grow.
  • Show a willingness to learn and develop essential business skills.
  • Capable of making independent decisions.
