What You’ll Actually Do
• Design and Develop: Lead the design and implementation of highly available, resilient, and performant backend services using modern languages and microservices architecture.
• Contribute Architecturally: Actively participate in architectural discussions, review technical designs, and propose innovative solutions to complex system challenges.
• Ensure Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, championing best practices in testing, code reviews, documentation, and CI/CD.
• Optimize Performance: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize database queries, and ensure the efficiency and responsiveness of all backend operations.
• Collaborate and Support: Collaborate effectively with various teams, mentor junior engineers, provide production support, and implement proactive monitoring to maintain system health.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, at a senior career level in backend development.
• Experience: 5+ years of demonstrable professional experience in backend software development, including hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or C#; solid understanding and practical experience with relational and NoSQL databases; proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, or gRPC services; understanding of distributed system concepts and message queues; experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Bonus: Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices communication patterns; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines; knowledge of front-end technologies; experience with performance monitoring tools and observability platforms; contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal technical projects.
