What We Look For In an Elementary School Math Tutor

• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction:
  • Familiarity with elementary math standards for grades one through five and common challenges students face (e.g., regrouping in subtraction, understanding fractions as parts of a whole, memorizing multiplication facts).
  • Ability to adapt instruction using resources like base-ten blocks, fraction strips, educational games, and multi-sensory approaches to support young learners at various developmental readiness levels.
• Effective Teaching Methods:
  • Proficiency in identifying concepts students commonly struggle with.
  • Ability to explain material using multiple approaches and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Proven ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and student requirements.
