What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide personalized, one-on-one online guitar instruction to individual students.
• Set your own flexible schedule and determine your tutoring hours.
• Utilize the AI-powered Tutor Copilot for real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features.
• Prepare students for performances, auditions, and music coursework across acoustic, electric, classical, and popular guitar styles.
• Invoice for tutoring sessions, with Varsity Tutors managing all payment processing and administrative logistics.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of guitar technique, including fretting, strumming, fingerpicking, chord voicings, scales, and music theory for guitar. This role requires strong conceptual teaching abilities and an understanding of various guitar pedagogy methods.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to teach progressive guitar technique, chord transitions, and musical expression, supporting learners from absolute beginners through advanced players.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in reading tablature and standard notation.
• Ability to clearly explain complex concepts such as barre chords, pentatonic and modal scales, and rhythm patterns.
• Skill in adapting instruction using method books, popular song arrangements, and technique exercises.
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly, engaging, and patient teaching style.
• Capability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with and adapt instruction to individual learning needs.
