What We Look For In an Anatomy & Physiology Tutor:

  • Advanced Subject Mastery:
    • Deep knowledge of human body systems, including musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, endocrine, digestive, urinary, reproductive, lymphatic, and integumentary systems.
    • Proficiency in histology and homeostatic mechanisms.
    • Ability to explain organ structure-function relationships, feedback loops, and pathophysiological processes.
    • Capability to prepare students for nursing, medical school, and allied health programs.
  • Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving:
    • Skilled at breaking down complex topics such as cardiac cycle mechanics, muscle contraction physiology, and renal filtration processes.
    • Ability to guide students through tracing blood flow pathways, analyzing electrocardiograms, interpreting hormonal feedback loops, and predicting disease impacts on organ systems.
    • Emphasis on clinical relevance, connecting anatomy and physiology to diagnostic imaging, surgical procedures, and patient care applications.
  • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction:
    • Familiarity with anatomy and physiology curricula and common challenges (e.g., memorizing anatomical terminology, understanding action potential propagation, integrating multiple organ system interactions).
    • Ability to adapt instruction using anatomical models, labeling exercises, and clinical case studies to support nursing students, pre-medical students, and allied health professionals at introductory through advanced levels.
  • Effective Teaching Methods:
    • Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with and explain material using multiple approaches.
    • Adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
    • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
    • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
