What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online instruction on GED Mathematical Reasoning content.
• Teach: Guide students through strategic test-taking and problem-solving techniques for the GED Math test.
• Adapt: Modify teaching methods using diagnostic pretests and official GED practice materials to meet individual learner needs.
• Explain: Clarify challenging mathematical concepts, such as algebra, geometry, and data analysis, using various teaching approaches.
• Support: Help adult learners rebuild foundational math skills to successfully pass the GED Math section.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of GED Mathematical Reasoning content, including basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, algebra, geometry, data analysis, and quantitative problem solving.
• Experience: A proven track record of preparing adult learners to achieve passing scores on the GED Math section, along with skill in teaching calculator usage strategies and translating word problems.
• Skills: Proficiency in using the TI-30XS calculator; ability to clearly explain linear equations, slope, graphing, area/volume formulas, and statistical reasoning; strong communication and an engaging teaching style; and the ability to identify common student struggles and adapt instruction to diverse learning styles.
