EGP Trainee / Elite Growth Practice (EGP) Private Wealth Management Specialist | Merrill Wealth Management

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-office role at Merrill Wealth Management, located across the United States. Merrill is a leading global provider of comprehensive wealth management and investment products and services for individuals, companies, and institutions, specializing in goals-based wealth management. This program is designed to develop and prepare candidates to further enhance and service the Financial Advisor (FA) Teams’ client base within Merrill’s Elite Growth Practice (EGP), contributing to the firm’s commitment to trusted advisory relationships and client success.

• Team: Supports Financial Advisor (FA) Teams within Merrill Wealth Management’s Elite Growth Practice.
• Mission: To develop and prepare individuals to enhance and service the FA Teams’ client base by executing the Elite Growth Practice model and deepening client relationships.
• Tech Stack: Salesforce, Wealth Management Workstation

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop and service client segments, focusing on the next generation and their beneficiaries, to gather additional assets and foster long-term relationships.
• Partner with all Merrill resources to deliver comprehensive wealth solutions, enhancing the existing client base and deepening client relationships.
• Coordinate essential technological support for the team, including developing detailed portfolio analysis, proposals, and targeted direct mail campaigns utilizing Salesforce and other proprietary tools.
• Provide technical expertise in specific product areas such as Corporate 401(k) plans, Rule 144 transactions, Insurance products, and the comprehensive Wealth Management Workstation.
• Perform a variety of specialized functions, including business management, business development, wealth planning, investment management, and relationship management, while ensuring quality client service and effective operations support.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent; for individuals looking to build a career in wealth management, focusing on investment products and client relationship development.
• Experience: Must obtain Series 7, 63/65 or 66 or equivalent along with all state registrations within a specified timeframe, and SAFE ACT Registration. Obtaining at least one firm-approved designation is also required. Demonstrated expertise in at least two specialized functions (Wealth Planning, Investment Management, Business Development, Business Management, or Relationship Management) is necessary for the Specialist level.
• Skills: Account Management, Customer Service Management, Relationship Building, Business Acumen, and Portfolio Management.
• Bonus: Strong communication skills to articulate appropriate approaches, analytical abilities to identify trends and improve processes, and the capacity to influence and collaborate across teams without direct authority.
