Alamo NEX Construction, LLC is an integral part of the Ferrovial Group in Texas, a leading global infrastructure operator. In 2021, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) entrusted Alamo NEX Construction, LLC – a joint venture between Ferrovial Construction Texas, LLC and DBW, LLC (both Ferrovial Group subsidiaries) – with the monumental Interstate 35 (I-35) NEX Central Project. This significant $1.5 billion Texas Design-Build (DB) project spans across the cities of San Antonio, Live Oak, Selma, and Schertz. The project’s scope includes critical non-tolled improvements along I-35, I-140, and Loop 1604. Key enhancements will feature the addition of elevated managed lanes to I-35, the construction of four new connector bridges at the I-35/I-410 North interchange, another four connector bridges at the I-35/Loop 1604 interchange, and the widening of Loop 1604 in Bexar and Guadalupe Counties. Job Description: Project Team Assistant (Temporary Assignment)

Position Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding three-to-four-month temporary assignment designed for an individual eager to gain hands-on experience in large-scale civil construction. As a Project Team Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Team with the comprehensive management, critical field construction activities, and meticulous documentation required for this significant project.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Field Operations Support: Actively communicate with Foremen and Superintendents to understand field construction operations and provide essential support, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with project owners, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, inspectors, and the local community to foster collaboration and address concerns proactively.
  • Safety and Environmental Compliance: Assist in upholding and promoting the Project’s stringent Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements, contributing to a safe working environment.
  • Timecard Management: Support the Project Engineer in approving timecards within Procore, meticulously ensuring all equipment and employee hours are accurately accounted for and submitted on schedule.
  • Quantity Verification and Tracking: Assist with verifying quantities in the Field Information Systems (FIS) and diligently log quantities for precise cost and revenue tracking.
  • Daily Cost Reporting: Aid the Project Engineer in generating and distributing daily cost reports (including trucking, labor, and equipment expenditures) to the Project Manager, Foremen, and Superintendents for informed decision-making.
  • Daily Activity Reporting: Contribute to the completion of daily reports, thoroughly documenting both Alamo NEX Construction and Subcontractor activities to maintain a detailed project record.
  • Procurement and Logistics: Efficiently place necessary material orders, survey requests, utility locates, and other essential logistical requirements to support ongoing operations.
  • Task Management and Documentation: Maintain an organized to-do list and a detailed diary to track tasks, progress, and important observations.
  • Material Yield Calculations: Assist with the accurate calculation of yields for various materials used, such as concrete, aggregate base, and asphalt, to optimize usage and minimize waste.
  • Jobsite Verification Tours: Participate in daily jobsite tours with the Project Manager or Engineer to verify claimed quantities, assess overall job progress, and stay current on site developments.
  • Ad-Hoc Support: Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to ensure the successful execution and completion of the project.
