About Wilcox Medical Center
Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua‘i community with accessible, quality health care. About the Medical Surgical Department
The Medical Surgical department is dedicated to providing quality and safe care to patients admitted for acute nursing interventions lasting 24 hours or more, encompassing both surgical/medical and oncology services. Our highly trained and professional staff treats individuals recovering from serious illness, orthopedic problems, and major surgery. We prioritize a warm and caring environment that facilitates patient recovery through medication and treatments.
The Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse with a desire to work in Medical Surgical. It is particularly ideal for:
- New graduate nurses
- Nurses with non-acute care experience
- Nurses returning to bedside care after a hiatus
Training Program
Our comprehensive training program is specifically designed to support nurses through the transition from novice to independent practice. The initial clinical program will be 12 weeks in duration. Please note the following important conditions during this period:
- No time away (PTO) allowed or granted during the first 12 weeks of the training program.
- Must be available for rotation to night shift.
- Must be available for any shift length (4, 8, 10, or 12 hours) for the duration of the training.

Pay Range
$47.71 – $68.16 USD per hour

The rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience, and training, as well as internal peer equity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
