The Tone:
This is a remote role for a Pure Math Tutor at Confidential Employer, available as full-time, part-time, or contractor positions depending on project needs. SpaceXAI’s core mission is to develop AI systems capable of accurately understanding the universe and empowering humanity’s pursuit of knowledge. This position is vital for advancing the company’s objectives by enhancing AI technologies through meticulous, high-quality inputs, labels, and annotations using specialized software. The tutor will directly contribute to training AI models by refining their understanding of human interactions, problem-solving methodologies, and in-depth mathematical discussions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Annotation: Utilize proprietary software applications to provide precise inputs and labels for defined projects, actively supporting the delivery of high-quality curated data crucial for AI model training.
• AI Model Training: Play a pivotal role in supporting and contributing to the training of new AI tasks, working in close collaboration with the technical staff to ensure the successful development and implementation of cutting-edge initiatives and technologies.
• Tool Refinement: Interact directly with the technical staff to offer insights and feedback, helping to improve the design and efficiency of annotation tools used across the platform.
• Problem Creation & Evaluation: Confidently choose or create complex problems from advanced pure mathematics subdomains, including abstract algebra, real/complex analysis, topology, and graph theory, providing detailed solutions and thoroughly evaluating AI model responses for accuracy and depth.
• Data Provision: Engage in gathering or providing diverse data in various formats, such as text, voice, and video, which encompasses annotations, audio recordings, or video sessions—a task candidates must be comfortable performing.
• Task Execution: Interpret, analyze, and execute tasks precisely based on given instructions, demonstrating strong analytical skills and adherence to guidelines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must have either a Master’s or PhD in Mathematics with a specialization in a subdomain of pure mathematics, or hold a medal from an International Math Olympiad (IMO) or a similar level international math competition.
• Experience: No specific years required. The role requires comfort with tasks involving gathering or providing data in text, voice, and video formats.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in both informal and professional English reading and writing, strong ability to navigate various information resources and databases, outstanding communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational capabilities, and solid reading comprehension combined with the capacity to exercise autonomous judgment even when presented with limited data/material. A strong passion for and commitment to technological advancements and innovation is also expected.
• Bonus: A PhD in Mathematics specializing in a pure math subdomain, peer-reviewed pure math publications in well-regarded journals, or prior AI Tutoring experience and/or experience teaching college-level courses.
