What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Provide personalized, in-depth online tutoring to graduate-level students, helping them master advanced statistical concepts.
• Clarify: Break down and clearly explain intricate theoretical foundations, complex derivations (e.g., likelihood functions), and advanced topics such as asymptotic theory and Bayesian inference.
• Guide: Lead students through practical applications of statistical methods, including designing experiments, performing multivariate analysis, and implementing models using software like R or Python.
• Support: Identify student misconceptions and adapt instructional methods, utilizing diverse approaches and real-world research examples, to cater to individual learning styles and needs.
• Prepare: Equip master’s and doctoral students with the understanding and skills required for research methodology and advanced statistical analysis.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Demonstrated graduate-level expertise and advanced subject mastery in statistics, sufficient to support master’s and doctoral students across diverse quantitative disciplines.
• Experience: Proven ability in conceptual teaching and problem-solving, including breaking down intricate derivations and guiding students through practical applications. Familiarity with common graduate statistics curricula and typical student challenges is also required.
• Skills: Deep knowledge across advanced statistical concepts such as mathematical statistics, maximum likelihood estimation, sufficient statistics, hypothesis testing theory, Bayesian inference, regression analysis, multivariate methods, experimental design, and nonparametric statistics. Proficiency in statistical computing tools like R or Python, coupled with strong communication skills and an engaging teaching style.
