The Tone:
This is an internship at Sanofi, located in Swiftwater, PA. Sanofi is an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company that invents medicines and vaccines to improve lives globally. This role is crucial for transforming the Internet of Things (IoT) integration platform at the Swiftwater Manufacturing and Supply site, moving it to a modern MQTT-based system for advanced data analytics. The intern will contribute directly to a vital digital transformation project, impacting manufacturing and laboratory operations.

• Mission: This intern helps transform the site’s Internet of Things (IoT) integration platform by transitioning to a modern MQTT-based system for data acquisition and analysis from manufacturing and laboratory sources.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Build and validate the site’s proof-of-concept platform, ensuring its functionality and readiness for integration.
• Operate container-based infrastructure hosted on an OpenShift platform, gaining hands-on experience with modern deployment methods.
• Map legacy data sources to new edge transformation tools, facilitating the seamless migration of critical information.
• Document and test the end-to-end data capture of the new platform, verifying its accuracy and reliability.
• Harden and maintain the cybersecurity posture of the platform and other shop floor and laboratory information systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, information systems, data science, or a related field, with plans to graduate by Spring 2027 and continuous enrollment in an accredited college or university.
• Experience: Must have been a Summer 2025 Cybersecurity intern at Sanofi, and permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.
• Skills: Programming experience in Python; basic understanding of MQTT architecture and Sparkplug B software specification; experience with operating systems including Windows, Linux (RedHat and Raspberry PI), and OpenShift Containers; experience with cybersecurity tools such as FireEye, SentinelOne, and Symantec Antivirus.
• Bonus: Experience working in a GXP regulated environment.
