Marketing Intern | Sonomos

The Tone:
This is an internship at Sonomos, located remotely. Sonomos is an early-stage AI-privacy startup building a privacy-first tool that detects and masks personally identifiable information in real time, entirely on-device, when using AI. This role is essential for telling the story of how Sonomos provides provable data protection for professionals in healthcare, legal, finance, and HR, directly impacting the company’s brand presence and growth.

• Mission: This person will build Sonomos’s brand presence, conduct professional outreach, and lead content strategy by articulating the intersection of AI safety, regulatory compliance, and enterprise security to a highly skeptical audience.
• Tech Stack: Canva, Figma

What You’ll Actually Do
• Social Media Strategy: Plan, draft, and schedule social media content across LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok, and Reddit targeting compliance professionals and privacy advocates.
• Web Copywriting: Draft SEO/AEO-optimized web copy that translates technical privacy concepts into clear buyer-facing language.
• Email Campaign Management: Assist with email marketing campaigns, including list segmentation, copywriting, A/B testing, and performance reporting.
• Visual Asset Coordination: Coordinate the creation of visual assets such as social graphics, short-form video, and demo clips, aligning with Sonomos’s design language.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree at San Diego State University (undergraduate or graduate student) and not graduating Spring 2026.
• Experience: Comfortable working asynchronously at times in a remote startup environment.
• Skills: Sharp communication skills; ability to articulate the intersection of AI safety, regulatory compliance, and enterprise security.
• Bonus: Exposure to B2B SaaS marketing; experience creating social media content (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn); basic design skills (Canva/Figma) or willingness to learn.
