Junior 3D CAD Modeler

Amentum is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Junior 3D CAD Modeler to join their team. This role will primarily involve supporting the Integrated Topside Design (ITD) CAD model development for U.S. Navy ships and contributing to critical naval defense projects.

Responsibilities Include:

• Supporting Integrated Topside Design (ITD) CAD model development.
• Performing 3D LiDAR scanning support.
• Assisting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Integrated Topside Design, in the creation and updates of 3D models of U.S. Navy ships.
• Supporting shipboard laser 3D scanning operations.
• Developing 3D models specifically for use in Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) modeling and analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated and established knowledge and subject matter expertise performing parametric modeling using Autodesk Inventor Professional.
• Acceptable Alternatives: In lieu of Autodesk Inventor Professional experience, one or more of the following software are acceptable: Solidworks, Catia, Pro-E, NX, Solidedge. However, candidates must also possess an Autodesk Inventor Essentials certificate of completion for the current release year.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is a mandatory requirement to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated 3D CAD model development experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Ship design.
  • 3D CAD model creation of commercial antennas, lights, or cameras.
  • 3D CAD model development for ship hulls or hull components.
  • 3D CAD model development for ship masts.
  • 3D CAD model development for ship structure.
  • 3D CAD model development for weapon systems.
• Demonstrated experience using technical data to create precise 3D CAD models.
• Experience importing native CAD models into a different CAD platform to reverse engineer and recreate a modifiable 3D solid model.
• Proficiency in the creation and modification of 3D CAD assembly models with greater than 1000 components.
• Demonstrated experience in the creation, modification, and maintenance of 2D drawings.
• Demonstrated experience working with DoD, ASME, ANSI, and other Military standards.
• Required Certificate: Autodesk Vault Professional Essentials certificate of completion for the current release year.

Compensation Details:

Hourly Rate: $32.06 to $36.06 (US)

The compensation range provided is an estimate. Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
